HCL is managing the water and sanitary sewer line design for the massive, $1.2 billion Central 70 design-build project in Denver, Colorado along the I-70 corridor. HCL is coordinating and performing the pre-design survey and utility relocations working with WSP and Jacobs Engineering. It has required an incredible amount of organization, pre-planning, and communication to coordinate the design between the existing and proposed underground utilities and infrastructure. Sanitary sewer, water, storm sewer, and telecommunications are well established throughout the project site, and each utility needs to be relocated along the 10-mile stretch of freeway between I-25 and Chambers Road. HCL is also taking the lead in coordinating utility design and relocations with the local municipalities and agencies. Kiewit will be constructing this project over the course of the next three years.
