HCL served as the civil engineer of record for Southwest in the design and construction of a new 130,000-square-foot maintenance hangar at DEN. The hangar will have space for three Boeing 737 aircraft, outside apron parking for eight 737s, and a taxi lane connector onto the airfield. HCL worked with the architect Ghafari, Southwest, DEN staff, the City and County of Denver Wastewater Manager Division, Denver Water, and the Denver Fire Department to secure all permits for the project. Due to the location of the site, it was critical to seek an early grading permit to keep the project on schedule. The site required over-excavation and import of over 290,000 cubic yards of fill to prepare the site for construction.
